Languages Week – Invercargill Campus Champions!

Last week was known among students in New Zealand as International Languages Week. For this, OneSchool Global organised several activities. One of these was an Education Perfect Competition, in which students and campuses across OneSchool Global New Zealand competed against each other to become the Reigning Champion of Languages. Congratulations to Invercargill Campus, who won, closely followed by Gisborne and Auckland Campuses. Here is what some Invercargill students said about the competition:

‘It was a nice challenge and got people involved in languages that might not have been their strength before’

‘Great fun and very competitive’

‘It was a great learning experience because it helped me become interested in languages’

Steinar’s Study Tips

1. Plan so you utilize every spare minute of your day.

This could mean, writing down what you need to work on or study for every period of the day.

Allow time for exercise and having a break between study’s, this resets your brain ready for taking in more knowledge.

2. Write your notes in RED.

It is scientifically proven that when you write notes in red, you remember them more clearly than if you were to write them in black.

Writing notes colorfully can make your notes more aesthetically pleasing, meaning you remember them better.

3. Print off a substantial amount of practice exams and exemplars.

Doing this is a good way to prepare for exams because it gives you an idea of what the test can look like.
