From the CA Team
Hello to all Students, Teachers, Parents and Community,
We trust your week has gone well and that Term 2 has been a positive start all round.
Last week, a number of Timaru Campus students, staff and support crew enjoyed excursions to Christchurch, Quail Island and Ferrymead. It was great to be part of the Ferrymead excursion with the Year 3-6 students witnessing what schooling was like some 150 years ago! I think one highlight in particular was the re-enactment of the start of a school day! Certainly schooling was not overly rewarding back then with discipline coming often and severe! Although we have a much improved learning environment today, the value of respect and remaining dedicated to your schoolwork is as ever important over a century later!
Term 2 brings added challenges for many of our students needing to complete assignments etc. We would encourage them to stay focused on what they need to achieve. Remember the best form of discipline is the disciplines you apply to yourself.
Next week we have the Year 12 and 13 Driver Awareness Courses, which help our senior students develop good driving habits early in their career.
All the best in view of a safe week ahead. Enjoy reading this newsletter and have a great weekend!
Reuben Deck, on behalf of the CA Team
