From the Year 9-13 Students
Year 9-10 Students at Timaru Campus
Mr Sutton has many talents; baking bread is not one of them. Luckily there are students and parents who have some ability there.
For their final unit for Term 4 the Year 9-10 Technology class investigated the link between food and culture. The class was tasked with creating bread at home and brining it into school.
A range of breads were created with links to different cultures. Those links included recipes passed down through different generations. Breads were evaluated on three main criteria – texture, taste, and presentation / link to culture.
I would like to thank the parent helpers who helped at home and at campus. Also, the judges who took time out to complete the difficult task of judging the vast array of tantalising treats. The students now have something to bring to the family gatherings, so don’t be afraid to ask them!
