Year 11-13 Motivational Day...
On Friday 13th September, the Year 11-13 students gathered at the Distinction Hotel in downtown Dunedin to discuss tactics for a strong academic finish to 2019.
Jonas Holt and Archie Simmons kindly graced us with their presence and shared some inspiring words to stimulate us to reach our challenging target of raising the merit and excellence percentage by 10% across the three year levels. They also shared a few top tips with the year 13s to help us transition smoothly into the workforce. Some thought-provoking key takeaways were to aim for completing one practice paper and one tutorial per subject per week, and that “the more you sweat in training, the less you bleed in battle.” Thanks Archie and Jonas for your rousing speeches to the students, it was much appreciated!
We then had a nutritious and delicious lunch from the kind hotel staff, made up of an appetizing salmon entrée, cheeseburger and chips main and a delectable brownie for desert.
After reflecting upon the inspiration from the morning, the students made their way over to the Escape Rooms, where we enjoyed using our remarkable escape skills to escape from some rooms.
Overall, it was an invigorating and stimulating day, and on behalf of all the students, we would like to thank the CA Team and Mr Morrison for making this day happen.
