From the Year 9-13 Students at Dunedin Campus
On Wednesday the 12th of May, the Year 9 - 10's from Timaru, Invercargill and Dunedin went to Speights Brewery, Larnachs Castle and the Edgar Centre. We got a tour of Speights Brewery and of Larnachs Castle. It was a very enjoyable trip and the weather played out perfectly for us. One thing we found out from the Speights tour was that the 3 stars on the Speights label stand for the 3 founders of Speights and for the 3 gold medals they won. We also learnt that Speight himself only put in 20% of the base funding and the other 2 put in 40% each but they named it after Speight because he was the most known. One of the most enjoyable moments of the trip was went we got to try some of sodas at Speights. We also really enjoyed playing basketball and soccer at the Edgar Centre.
We would like to thank all the drivers and helpers on the day, and we hope they enjoyed it as much as we did.

Red Heart Day Cheque Presentation
It was really exciting for the Dunedin students to meet Qa-t-a from the Red Heart Foundation and get the privilege of presenting the cheque on behalf of OSG. From all the campuses contributing towards the Red Heart Day fundraiser, Dunedin Campus raised the most per student, therefore received the honour of presenting this cheque.
Here is what Qa-t-a had to say:
“It was absolutely lovely to come along to the assembly presentation this morning and receive your wonderful and kind donation from the Dunedin Campus. The student leaders put together a wonderful presentation and the support from the community was outstanding – thank you!
Wishing you all the best and thank you again for your generosity.”
