As many of you would be aware, the Ministry of Education has been working to strengthen NCEA by making a series of changes to improve well-being, equity, coherence, pathways and credibility – for students and teachers alike. The changes to NCEA will be the most significant reform of the qualification since it was introduced in 2002. To prepare schools for changes, the Ministry has planned a limited number of Teacher-Only Days nationwide periodically until the programme rolls out from 2023. These days are to support the implementation of the changes, and the wider strengthening of curriculum, progress and achievement practice. OneSchool Global New Zealand took part in the first of these Teacher-Only Days in November 2020, and will again engage by holding a Teacher-Only Day for all Senior School staff and students on Tuesday 10 August 2021. This day will focus on the Review of Achievement Standards being undertaken across all NCEA subjects, as well as upcoming changes to Numeracy and Literacy requirements. This means that while all Year 3-8 classes will continue as normal, all Year 9-13 students are requested to remain home on that day. Thank you for your support as we strive to remain at the leading edge of education in this country! Regards, |
Massive Congratulations to our Journey Through Talent South Campus Winners:-
