It was great to have Mr Morrison and Mr Sullivan in Invercargill on Monday, like all the teachers they enjoyed the staff appreciation day arranged by the students. Huge thank you to all involved in preparing of this, what a success as it was enjoyed by all!
The end of the Year 13’s schooling journey is almost over as they all will be at the Timaru Campus on Wednesday 17th November for their last day. This will be a great day with plenty activities planned along with the Year 12’s preparing a wonderful lunch.
Wednesday morning was the last of the coaching sessions for the Year 11 -13’s, which started with the Motivate ’21 session. What a great inspiration it was to see Mr Matt Goudie and Mr Ron Hickmott share some thoughts on how to get ahead in life. A huge thanks to all the coaches and the effort you have put in over these past 16 weeks, we can notably see the increase in results filtering through so well done.
All the best as you start the external exams and remember that “the best preparation for tomorrow is doing your best today”
It is also great to see the improvement in the junior MAP testing that they have been completing this week.
Lastly thank you to the van drivers for all you do getting the students to school and just a reminder to fill out the Van Report . We are currently sitting at 60.8% for the South Campus.
On Tuesday, the senior students will pitch to the school for a spot on the Student Leadership Team.
Kind Regards,
Brad Kelly on behalf of the Campus Administration Team.
Vaccination Order – Education Sector changes
The health, safety, and wellbeing of everyone in the OneSchool Global community is of paramount importance to the Global Board. In response to the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, vaccines and treatments have been developed for deployment across the world. During June 2021, OneSchool Global developed a Vaccination policy with reference to government, health, and education authorities in the locations where OneSchool Global operates. The policy is subject to change when such authorities revise their directions.
On 11 October 2021 the Government announced an amendment to the current Vaccination Order to include all the people who work at our school, such as campus principals, teachers, support staff, contractors, visiting staff and volunteers.
Application of Order to independent schools
We have confirmed with the Ministry of Education that the Health Order from the New Zealand Government applies to all schools across the country including independent schools. Since this also applies to OneSchool Global NZ we will require that all staff and workers who may have contact with children and students in our campuses meet the requirements set out in the New Zealand Government announcement.
The scope of this requirement is broad and includes all the people who work at our school, such as campus principals, teachers, support staff, contractors, visiting staff and volunteers.
Next steps
This will mean that we will require all our staff and volunteers to have received their first COVID-19 vaccination by 15 November 2021 and us all need to be fully vaccinated by 1 January 2022.
To assist us through this process can you please confirm your current vaccination status by completing the questionnaire on the link below. The due date for completing the questionnaire is 4:00pm on Monday 1 November. We will require official evidence of your vaccination status. We will maintain strict confidentiality and privacy of the information you provide us in accordance with the Privacy Act. For a copy of the Privacy statement, please send a request to hr.support@nz.oneschoolglobal.com. Anyone who fails to respond to this request will be viewed as not vaccinated.
Questionnaire:
We encourage anyone who are hesitant to get vaccinated to contact me so we could explore certain options. Therefore, we ask that you communicate to us in writing if you intend to be vaccinated if you are not currently, if you are not intending to receive the vaccination then please advise us if you have any genuine reasons for not being vaccinated. With that said you are entitled to, and we encourage you to seek support, advice or representation regarding this.
We understand that this will be stressful news and an uncertain time. Please feel free to make a time to meet with me privately to discuss anything the organization might do to support you during this time.
