Good afternoon all,
We have now completed the last ‘normal’ week at OneSchool for this year. Our Year 11-13 NCEA students go on study leave after next Wednesday, and all other year groups have teacher-only days on Thursday and Friday before the Head Start programme starts the following week when they move into their new year levels.
We wish the NCEA students all the best for their exams. Our message for this is that we want to see every student sit every exam that they are entered for, and we ask for full support of the parents to make sure this happens.
Students: turn up and give it a go and prove to yourself that you have the knowledge and skills required to deal with high-pressure situations.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank all the volunteers who help keep OneSchool running including Student Device Monitors, drivers, canteen helpers, those who help with maintenance, and many others. We greatly appreciate your support.
Jonathan Moore on behalf of the CA team
We are looking forward to recognising our students at our upcoming ROE ceremony on the 6th of December.
This year South Campus will be holding two separate ROE ceremonies, one in Gore with the Dunedin students and the other in Timaru.
This is a kind reminder that all damaged devices will be sent for fixing and the cost will be on-charged to the parents unless it is a hardware issue.
When it comes to damaged laptops, the OSG policy is clear: parents will be charged for any damages caused as the student is responsible for looking after their school issued device (which is loaned for school use only). A damaged device must be fixed as a student cannot properly engage in their lessons without one.
The ICT agreement form, signed by both student & parents every year, states "I accept responsibility for any costs associated with the repair or replacement of any lost or damaged school-issued device, including any associated accessories caused by negligence on the part of my child."
A payment plan may be arranged with the campus, so be in touch as we are happy to support.
Thank you for your cooperation.
