Three Way Learning Conferences...
Next week on Wednesday and Thursday afternoon we are holding 3 Way Conferences to give parents and students an opportunity to meet with teachers. Your main interview is with your child’s whanau or homeroom teacher. For parents of secondary students, if there is an issue that you need to discuss with the Maths or English teacher, you may book an interview with them, but only if there is a specific issue.
These 3 Way Conferences (3WC) will be carried out over two afternoons. Note that this is slightly different from the school calendar. 3WC’s will take place on Wednesday 10 April from 2:30pm to 5:30pm and Thursday 11 April from 1:00pm to 5:30pm. Note that school will close early on Thursday 11 April at the beginning of lunchtime (as per the calendar).

In three-way conferencing all three parties - student, parents and the teacher - sit together and talk about the student’s learning. Three Way Learning Conferences are a conversation between the student, their parents and their teacher. The student has an opportunity to share with their parents, with the support of their teacher, their growth as a learner. All three parties -‐ student, parents and the teacher -‐ sit together and talk about the student’s learning by looking at and discussing a range of the student’s work samples. There is also opportunity for the parents and teacher to spend some 1:1 time without the student to discuss other matters.
Know what's important and what isn't. Have the wisdom to know the right thing to do, the integrity to do it, the character to stand up to those who don't, and the courage to stop those who won't.
