Hello South Campus,
As we all know there has been considerable disruption to travel plans and meetings due to Coronavirus.
On Wednesday Auckland had planned to host the first of the three regional VC Days and on Thursday 5th a CA Training Day was planned in Sydney, both of which were cancelled late Tuesday afternoon. SO… it has been quite a disrupted week for all of us so far! I’m sure that we will see more information on when these events will be happening in due course.
In the meantime, we are just getting on with the school year! A shout out to the Student Leadership Team for organising a Red Heart Day lunch, it’s great to see the initiative being shown.
On Tuesday, the Dunedin 9-13 students travelled to Invercargill campus, along with Mr Wylie who helped in the LC some of the day. From all accounts this was another success and we are looking forward to this continuing. Mr Kennedy and Mr Morrison were in Invercargill the same day – a busy place.
One thing all of the CA’s would like to see is more parents/grandparents going to the school during lunch hour, please do not be shy and if you can go and play a game with the kids for a few minutes all the better, but otherwise just feel free to walk around and engage the students in conversation! The staff are always pleased to see this and it helps keep them up to date with any changes or upgrades that happen constantly. A big thank you to those who are coming out to the schools already.
We have another Athletics Day coming up at the Caledonian Ground in Dunedin shortly (Friday 13th March) and the students are training hard for this now, so please be sure to note the date as the more support we can get the better.
All the best.
Mike Senior on behalf of the South Campus CA Team
