At OSG South, we need to ensure that we are complying with the OSG Policy regarding the serious nature of Students having mobile phones and wearable technology at School and on School transport.
The OneSchool Global Board want to control this area in our Schools, and we need your full support to adhere to the prohibition of any of this equipment:
- Student Phones
- Smartwatches
- Fitness Trackers
This includes all student mobile phones, wearable technology such as Smartwatches, fitness trackers (including Fitbit, Garmin, Tom-tom, Samsung and other brands). This means any device that connects to a network, syncs to the internet, tracks movement, or is not school-owned or supplied.
We need your help as students, parents and community members to ensure we are upholding our OSG Transport Values.
Details below are from the OSG NZ School Transport Policy – please click the link below to see the full policy.
Behaviour
Conduct of all persons is to be in accordance with the School Ethos, and specifically as follows:
Student Behaviour
Student Behaviour will be managed by the Campus Principal. Transport Coordinators need to forward any unsatisfactory reports to the Campus Principal immediately. Required behaviour includes: Punctuality, cooperation, entering and leaving vehicle safely and courteously, wearing uniform and footwear correctly, maintaining no physical contact, respecting others’ property, obeying drivers’ directions, respecting driver and members of the public, tidiness; and refraining from shouting, harassment, bad language, distraction, offensive or suggestive remarks or gestures, fighting, throwing etc.
Student Seating
The Transport Coordinator will allocate each student a seat, using the seat allocation template. It is recommended senior girls must sit at the rear, and senior boys at the front. Junior students must sit in the middle of the van. For the duration of the journey, seating arrangements must be adhered to, and seatbelts used correctly.
Prohibited Items
Musical playing devices, digital equipment including school-owned devices, cameras, mobile phones and smartwatches, newspapers and magazines and any other items banned from the School as identified in the Parent & Student Handbook are not acceptable on school transport. Prohibited items will be confiscated by the driver, and their use reported to the Lead CA.
Playing Music
No music is to be played on any School Transport.
