Good Afternoon All,
Welcome to the start of Week 4.
Wednesday was the last day for our Year 11-13 students, a great finish to an exciting year. NCEA exams have started and will run through till Friday 2nd December.
We very much look forward to the Wildlife Excursion (Years 3-10) on Wednesday 23rd November and the Recognition of Excellence Ceremony on Thursday 8th December at the new Gore Campus.
A quick reminder, Monday 21st November is Teacher-Only Day for Year 9-10 students. And the Junior Map testing begins this coming Monday.
Enjoy the news below and have an excellent weekend.
Regards Ezra Bishop, on behalf of the CA Team

My name is Maree Scott. I am the proud mother of 2 children, Brayden aged 19 who works for Fulton Hogan in Christchurch and Jenna aged 17 who will be graduating from SIT next month with her Diploma in Beauty Therapy. I live in Gore with my partner, Jason and our two furbabies – Chevy the dog and Murph the cat.
Until recently I was working two part time jobs, and when I saw the vacancy for the OA at OneSchool Global Gore Campus, I jumped at the chance to apply for the position.
When I am not working, one of my passions is walking. I walk every single morning before breakfast – rain, hail or shine. This helps me to clear my mind and start the day off on the right foot. I used to be a travel agent, so travelling is also a passion. There are so many places in the world that are beckoning me to visit and I cannot wait to be ticking a few more off.
In my spare time, I work from home as a wellness and weightloss coach. I have lost a considerable amount of weight this year and have loved the programme that I have done so much, that I have trained and am now helping people throughout Australia and New Zealand achieve their wellness and weightloss goals. This is very rewarding and is awesome to help people get a lot healthier and happier.
I am really looking forward to the start of the new school year in the brand new Gore campus and working alongside the staff both there and those that are only a phone call/zoom away. It will be awesome to start to get to know some of the students too.

From the Year 7-8 Students and Dunedin/Invercargill Campus
During the first couple of weeks of Term 4, the Invercargill, Dunedin and Timaru Year 7/8 students have been learning about debating and have had been competing against each other in teams of 3-4 as either the Affirmative or Negative.
Students have had to debate for or against a variety of different topics. These include that the Government should give all kids an allowance, Technology makes people dumber and that teachers should be paid more than doctors.
The quality of presenting the research found by every group was highly impressive and it made our jobs as teachers that much more difficult trying to decide which students we would send to represent the South Campus to the National Debate Finals.
A huge congratulations to all the Year 7/8 students for their outstanding efforts and a special mention to Maddox Burgess, Alana Bishop, Isla Malcolm and Maia McLean who represented our campus with pride and integrity during the finals.

“The man who moves a mountain begins by carrying away small stones.”
Confucius
This motivational quote for exam preparation could be just what you need. Just take it one small stone at a time: learn one paragraph, study 10 words or try writing a sample essay introduction. Stay consistent, and before long you’ll have started to move the mountain!
